Generative tools

Text to image and text to music create new content with generative models. Image to image changes an uploaded image generatively. Generative upscaling can add details that were not present in the source image. These tools therefore show a discreet origin notice in the interface and alongside the result.

What the notices mean

• AI-generated: The essential content was created by a generative model.
• Partly AI-modified: Existing content was changed by a generative model.
• AI-enhanced: The result was upscaled generatively and individual details may have been added synthetically.

Tools without a generative label

Compression, format conversion, PDF processing, cropping, resizing, FFmpeg processing, and ordinary background removal do not automatically receive a generative origin notice. A purely technical edit should not be misleadingly presented as AI generation.

Machine-readable provenance

Supported generative results also receive a technical provenance record. PNG files contain embedded text fields. Result responses link through an HTTP Link header to a signed JSON-LD record containing the result identifier, tool, model identifier, creation time, and SHA-256 hash. Prompts, uploaded source files, IP addresses, and account data are not added to this record.

This first-party marker is a practical technical foundation, but it is not currently a C2PA certification. Provenance markers already supplied by a model are preserved where possible.

Knowledge content

Glossary and learning content displays its editorial status on the article. Editorially reviewed is shown only when a traceable human review is recorded. AI-assisted content without specialist review is labelled accordingly. Health, legal, financial, and safety content is not a substitute for individual professional advice.

Retention and contact

The origin notice does not change the deletion periods described in the privacy notice and terms. Questions or reports about a label can be sent to [email protected].

The design is guided in particular by Article 50 of the EU AI Act and the related European Commission guidelines. The applicable legal requirements remain authoritative.
